Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to write a descriptive paragraph about a piece of artwork, using your imagination and creativity.
Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Pencils or colored pencils
- An artwork of your choice (can be a printout or a picture on a device)
Before starting the lesson, make sure you have a clear understanding of what a descriptive paragraph is and how to use adjectives to describe things.
Activities
- Look at the artwork you have chosen and spend a few minutes observing it closely.
- Think about how the artwork makes you feel and what it reminds you of.
- Using your imagination, write a descriptive paragraph about the artwork. Include details about the colors, shapes, and any objects or people you see in the artwork.
- After writing your paragraph, read it aloud and see if you can make any improvements or add more descriptive words.
- Once you are satisfied with your paragraph, you can either draw a picture inspired by the artwork or create a new piece of artwork based on your paragraph.
