Activities

  1. Warm-up: Practice Multiplication Facts

    Start by reviewing your multiplication facts for numbers 1 to 9. Use flashcards or create your own multiplication table to help you practice. Spend about 10 minutes on this activity.

  2. Introduction to Double-Digit Multiplication

    Learn the steps to multiply double-digit numbers:

    1. Line up the numbers vertically, with the ones digit in the rightmost column.
    2. Multiply the ones digit of the bottom number by the top number.
    3. Multiply the tens digit of the bottom number by the top number.
    4. Add the two products together to get the final answer.
  3. Guided Practice: Multiplication Examples

    Work through some examples together. Start with simpler problems and gradually increase the difficulty. Use the steps you learned in the previous activity to solve each problem. Remember to carry over any tens if needed.

  4. Independent Practice: Multiplication Worksheets

    Complete the provided worksheets on double-digit multiplication. Apply the steps you learned to solve each problem. Take your time and ask for help if needed.

  5. Challenge Activity: Create Your Own Word Problems

    Create two word problems that involve double-digit multiplication. Make sure to include all the necessary information and solve the problems using the steps you learned. Share your word problems with a family member or friend to solve.
