Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to create a fun and colorful piece of art using basic materials.

Materials and Prep

  • Construction paper
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick
  • Markers or crayons
  • Pencil

Make sure you have a clear workspace and gather all the materials before starting the lesson.

Activities

  1. Start by folding a piece of construction paper in half to create a card shape.
  2. Using a pencil, lightly draw a simple shape or design on the front of the card. It could be a flower, a sun, a house, or anything you like!
  3. Carefully cut out the shape along the pencil lines.
  4. Now, take another piece of construction paper and cut out smaller shapes or objects that you can use to decorate your card. These could be circles, squares, triangles, or even animals.
  5. Use the markers or crayons to color the shapes and objects you cut out.
  6. Once you have colored all the shapes, use the glue stick to attach them to the front of your card. You can arrange them in any way you like!
  7. Finally, use the markers or crayons to add any additional details or decorations to your card.
