Activities
- Start by reading the Minecraft-themed passage together.
- Discuss the passage and ask comprehension questions.
- What was the main problem in the passage?
- Who were the main characters and what were their roles?
- What happened at the beginning, middle, and end of the passage?
- What was your favorite part of the passage and why?
- Summarize the passage in your own words.
- Write a Minecraft-inspired story.
- Share and discuss the stories.
Read the passage out loud or take turns reading paragraphs. Encourage the student to ask questions if there are any unfamiliar words or concepts.
Engage in a conversation about the main ideas, characters, and events in the passage. Ask questions like:
Ask the student to summarize the passage using their own words. Encourage them to include the main ideas and key details.
Using the Minecraft-themed passage as inspiration, have the student create their own story set in the Minecraft world. Encourage them to use descriptive language and include characters and events from the game.
Have the student read their story aloud or share it with a family member. Discuss the similarities and differences between their story and the original passage.
