Prior to the lesson, familiarize yourself with the basic concept of Thanksgiving and its historical background.
Activities

- Explore Native American Culture:
Using the printed pictures of Thanksgiving symbols, cut them out and glue them onto a piece of paper to create a collage. Talk about each symbol and its significance in Thanksgiving.
Using the world map or globe, help the student locate the United States and discuss how Thanksgiving originated there. Explain that Thanksgiving is a holiday celebrated in the United States to give thanks for the blessings of the year.
Discuss the Native American tribes that were present during the first Thanksgiving. Show pictures of Native American clothing, houses, and food. Explain that Native Americans played an important role in the history of Thanksgiving.
