Activities
Watch a video about frogs and their life cycle. You can find educational videos on websites like YouTube or educational platforms.
Draw and color the life cycle of a frog. Start with an egg, then a tadpole, followed by a froglet, and finally an adult frog.
If possible, visit a nearby pond or wetland to observe frogs in their natural habitat. Take notes or draw pictures of what you see.
First Grade Talking Points
"Frogs are amphibians, which means they can live both in water and on land."
"Frogs start their life as eggs, which are laid in water."
"The next stage is the tadpole. Tadpoles have gills and live in the water. They swim using their tails."
"As tadpoles grow, they develop legs and their tails become smaller. They are then called froglets."
"Finally, froglets become adult frogs. They have lungs and can breathe air. They can live both in water and on land."
"Frogs eat insects, worms, and other small creatures."
"Frogs are important for the environment as they help control insect populations."
