Objective
By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to demonstrate improved vocal techniques and expressiveness in singing.
Materials and Prep
- Vocal warm-up exercises
- Lyrics of a song of the student's choice
- Recording device (optional)
- Quiet and comfortable practice space
Activities
Start the lesson with vocal warm-up exercises. Encourage the student to stretch their vocal range by practicing scales, arpeggios, and lip trills.
Once warmed up, have the student choose a song they would like to work on. Provide guidance in selecting a song that suits their vocal range and interests.
Work on the song together, focusing on proper breath control, diction, and expression. Help the student understand the emotions conveyed in the lyrics and encourage them to connect with the meaning of the song.
Record the student's performance if a recording device is available. This will allow them to listen back and evaluate their progress.
End the lesson by discussing areas of improvement and setting goals for future practice sessions.
