Objective

Materials and Prep

  • A book about frogs
  • A computer or tablet with internet access
  • Paper and crayons/markers
  • A small container or bowl
  • A toy frog (optional)

Before the lesson, familiarize yourself with basic frog facts and their life cycle.

Activities

  1. Read a book about frogs together. Discuss the different parts of a frog's body and their functions.
  2. Watch a short video or look at pictures of frogs online. Talk about the different colors and patterns you see.
  3. Draw a picture of a frog and color it using crayons or markers. Encourage creativity!
  4. Fill a small container or bowl with water. Let your toy frog "swim" in the water and talk about how frogs live in and near water.
  5. Discuss the life cycle of a frog. Show pictures or use a visual aid to explain the stages of egg, tadpole, froglet, and adult frog.
