  • Large poster board or chart paper
  • Markers
  • Scissors
  • Glue stick

No prior knowledge is required for this lesson.

Activities

  1. Introduction: Show the pictures or illustrations of different mushrooms to the student. Discuss their shapes, colors, and sizes. Ask the student if they have ever seen any mushrooms before.

  2. Mushroom Collage: Provide the student with the poster board or chart paper, markers, scissors, and glue stick. Instruct them to draw and cut out mushroom shapes from the paper. Help them glue the mushroom shapes onto the poster board to create a mushroom collage.

  3. Mushroom Hunt: Take the student on a short walk outside or around the house. Encourage them to look for mushrooms in different places, such as under trees or near damp areas. Remind them not to touch or eat any mushrooms they find, as some can be poisonous.
