Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to analyze and interpret text by applying reading comprehension strategies, while incorporating your interest in Minecraft.

Materials and Prep

  • A computer or tablet with internet access
  • A Minecraft account
  • Paper and pencil

Activities

  1. Read a Minecraft-related story or article of your choice. It can be a fanfiction, a news article, or even a book about Minecraft.

While reading, take notes on the main characters, setting, and plot points. Pay attention to any new vocabulary words or interesting descriptions.

  2. After reading, create a Minecraft-themed graphic organizer to summarize the story. Use blocks or characters from the game to represent the main elements of the story, such as characters, setting, conflict, and resolution.

Write a brief summary of the story using your graphic organizer as a guide. Include important details and events.

  3. Design your own Minecraft adventure using a storyboard. Plan out the characters, setting, and plot for your adventure. Think about the challenges and obstacles your characters will face.

Write a short narrative based on your storyboard, describing the events of your Minecraft adventure. Be creative and use descriptive language to engage the reader.
