Objective

Materials and Prep

Activities

  1. Introduction to Bugs: Show the toddler pictures or small toy bugs and talk about different types of bugs. Encourage them to ask questions and share their thoughts about bugs.
  2. Bug Drawing: Give the toddler a piece of paper and crayons or colored pencils. Ask them to draw their favorite bug and label it with the bug's name or any words they can write.
  3. Bug Story: Help the toddler create a simple bug story. Start with a sentence like "Once upon a time, there was a little bug named..." and let the toddler continue the story by adding a sentence or two. Write down their words as they dictate.
  4. Bug Journal: Provide the toddler with a small notebook or multiple sheets of paper stapled together. Encourage them to use it as a bug journal, where they can draw or write about different bugs they see or learn about.
