  • Writing materials (paper, pencil)
  • Access to a computer or tablet for online research (optional)

Activities

  1. Begin by discussing the student's interest in astronomy and why they find it fascinating. Encourage them to share any knowledge they already have.

  2. Ask the student to choose an astronomy-related topic they would like to learn more about. It could be a specific planet, a famous astronomer, or a celestial event.

  3. Provide the student with astronomy books or articles related to their chosen topic. Alternatively, they can conduct online research using a computer or tablet.

  4. Ask the student to read and gather information about the chosen topic. They should take notes and highlight important details.

  5. Once the reading is complete, have the student write a short report or summary about their chosen topic. Encourage them to include interesting facts and any personal reflections.

  6. Review the student's report together, providing feedback and suggestions for improvement. Emphasize the importance of clear and organized writing.

  7. Encourage the student to share their report with family members or friends who are also interested in astronomy. This can be done through reading it aloud or sharing a digital copy.
