Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to create leaf crafts using only materials found in nature.

Materials and Prep

  • A variety of leaves (collected from outside)
  • Construction paper
  • Glue
  • Scissors (with adult supervision)
  • Markers or crayons

Before starting the lesson, make sure to gather a selection of leaves and have all the materials ready for use.

Activities

  1. Leaf Rubbings: Place a leaf underneath a piece of construction paper. Use a crayon or marker to gently rub over the paper, revealing the leaf's texture.
  2. Leaf Collage: Glue different leaves onto a piece of construction paper to create a unique collage. Get creative with the arrangement and overlapping of the leaves.
  3. Leaf Prints: Apply paint to the underside of a leaf and press it onto a piece of construction paper. Lift the leaf carefully to reveal a beautiful leaf print.

Feel free to explore different techniques and experiment with various leaf shapes and sizes to create your own leaf crafts.
