Objective
By the end of this lesson, the kindergarten student will be able to appreciate and understand the concept of security cameras and their role in keeping our surroundings safe.
Materials and Prep
- No materials required.
- Prior knowledge of basic shapes and colors is helpful.
Activities
- Start by discussing the concept of security cameras with the student. Explain that security cameras are devices used to monitor and record what happens in a specific area to ensure safety.
- Show the student some real-life examples of security cameras, either through pictures or videos. Discuss where security cameras are commonly found, such as stores, schools, and streets.
- Engage the student in a discussion about the importance of security cameras in maintaining safety. Encourage them to share their thoughts and ask questions.
- Encourage the student to draw their own security camera. Provide them with paper and coloring materials, and ask them to think about the shape and color they want their camera to be.
- Once the student has finished drawing their security camera, ask them to explain their design. Prompt them to describe the shape and color choices they made and why.
- Display the student's artwork in a designated area, creating a mini art gallery of their security cameras.
