Materials and Prep

  • Soccer ball
  • Printed flashcards with soccer-related vocabulary words in Spanish
  • Printed worksheet with soccer-related activities

Activities

  1. Warm-up: Start by reviewing the names of body parts in Spanish. Have the student touch each body part as you say its name in Spanish.

  2. Vocabulary Practice: Show the flashcards with soccer-related vocabulary words in Spanish. Pronounce each word and have the student repeat after you. Practice until the student feels comfortable with the pronunciation.

  3. Role Play: Pretend to be a soccer player and have the student be the coach. Use the vocabulary words in sentences to create a dialogue. For example, "¿Dónde está el balón?" (Where is the ball?) and "Patea el balón" (Kick the ball).

  4. Worksheet: Give the student the printed worksheet with soccer-related activities. Have them complete the activities using the vocabulary words they have learned. Provide assistance if needed.
