Activities

  1. Introduction: Start by discussing the student's interest in cats and why they find them fascinating. Ask them to share their favorite cat breeds or any memorable experiences with cats.
  2. Observation and Sketching: Provide the student with reference images of cats and encourage them to observe the different shapes, sizes, and features of cats. Instruct them to sketch their favorite cat or create a composite of various cat features.
  3. Adding Details: Once the basic sketch is complete, guide the student in adding details such as fur patterns, whiskers, and expressive eyes. Emphasize the importance of paying attention to proportions and capturing the unique characteristics of cats.
  4. Coloring: Using colored pencils or markers, have the student add color to their cat drawing. Encourage them to explore different color combinations and shading techniques to bring their artwork to life.
  5. Reflection: After completing the artwork, have a discussion about the student's creative process. Ask them to describe the decisions they made regarding colors, composition, and any challenges they faced during the drawing process.
