Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will understand the importance of government and citizenship in society, and how it relates to your interests in soccer.

Activities

  1. Research and write: Start by researching the history and organization of soccer at the national and international levels. Write a short paragraph summarizing your findings.

  2. Government and soccer: Reflect on the role of government in regulating and supporting soccer. Write down three ways in which government policies and actions impact the sport.

  3. Citizenship and soccer: Think about how being a responsible citizen can positively influence the soccer community. Write a short essay discussing the importance of good sportsmanship and fair play in soccer.

  4. Design your own soccer rule: Imagine you have the power to create a new rule for soccer. Write down your rule and explain how it promotes fairness and equality in the game.

  5. Discussion with a family member or friend: Engage in a conversation with a family member or friend about the role of government and citizenship in sports. Ask them for their opinions and share your own insights.
