No prior knowledge of French is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Begin by showing the printed pictures of different sweets and chocolates to the student. Ask them to name the items in English.
- Introduce the French names for each sweet or chocolate. Pronounce each word slowly and clearly, encouraging the student to repeat after you.
- Provide a coloring activity where the student can color the pictures of sweets and chocolates while labeling them with their French names.
- Play a memory game by placing the pictures face down on a table. Take turns flipping two cards at a time, trying to find matching pairs of sweets or chocolates. When a pair is found, say the French name of the item.
- Encourage the student to practice saying the French names of sweets and chocolates throughout the day, especially when they encounter them in real life or in books.
