Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to understand the importance of physical activity for your health and apply it while playing with Magnatiles.

Materials and Prep

  • Magnatiles set
  • Open space to play
  • Comfortable clothing and shoes

No specific preparation is required for this lesson.

Activities

  1. Warm-up: Start by doing some simple stretching exercises to warm up your muscles. Reach up high, touch your toes, and rotate your arms.
  2. Build and Move: Use the Magnatiles to build a structure of your choice. Once you have built it, find different ways to move around and through the structure. You can crawl, jump, slide, or balance. Be creative!
  3. Obstacle Course: Create an obstacle course using the Magnatiles. Place them on the floor in different patterns and heights. Challenge yourself to navigate through the course without touching the Magnatiles.
  4. Fitness Challenge: Set a timer for 5 minutes and see how many different exercises you can do using the Magnatiles. For example, you can do jumping jacks, lunges, or push-ups with your hands on the Magnatiles.
  5. Cool-down: Finish the lesson by taking a few minutes to stretch and relax your muscles. Take deep breaths and slowly stretch your arms, legs, and back.
