Before starting the lesson, make sure the student has a properly functioning bicycle and a well-fitted bike helmet. Ensure there is a safe and open outdoor space available for bike riding.
Activities
- Warm-up: Begin with a short warm-up activity to get the student's body ready for bike riding. This can include jumping jacks, jogging in place, or stretching exercises.
- Bike Safety: Discuss the importance of bike safety and the rules that need to be followed while riding a bike. Emphasize the use of helmets, hand signals, and obeying traffic rules.
- Bike Handling Skills: Teach the student basic bike handling skills such as starting and stopping, turning, and balancing. Start with simple exercises like riding in a straight line and gradually progress to more challenging maneuvers.
- Obstacle Course: Set up an obstacle course using cones or other markers. Have the student navigate through the course, practicing their bike handling skills and demonstrating control and balance.
- Cool-down: Finish the lesson with a cool-down activity such as stretching or deep breathing exercises.
