Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to review and practice Spanish vocabulary related to everyday objects and greetings.
Materials and Prep
- Pen or pencil
- Blank paper or notebook
No prior knowledge of Spanish is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Warm-up: Start by reviewing the names of common objects in your surroundings in English. Write down five of these objects in your notebook.
- Vocabulary Practice: Look up the Spanish translations for the objects you wrote down in the previous activity. Write the Spanish word next to each English word in your notebook.
- Greetings Game: Practice common greetings in Spanish by playing a game of Simon Says. Take turns being the leader and giving instructions in Spanish, such as "Simon dice saluda a tu compañero" (Simon says greet your partner) or "Simon dice di 'hola'" (Simon says say 'hello').
- Role-play: Pretend to have a conversation with a friend in Spanish. Use the greetings you have learned and ask each other how you are doing. For example, one person can say "Hola, ¿cómo estás?" (Hello, how are you?) and the other can respond with "Estoy bien, ¿y tú?" (I'm fine, and you?).
