  • Cutting board and knife (with adult supervision)
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Cooking utensils (e.g., spatula, mixing spoon)
  • Cooking equipment (e.g., stove, microwave, toaster)

Activities

  1. Choose a recipe from the cookbook or printed recipe.

    Read the recipe carefully, paying attention to the list of ingredients and step-by-step instructions.

  2. Gather all the necessary ingredients and equipment.

    Place them on the kitchen counter or table.

  3. Follow the recipe instructions to prepare the meal.

    Use the measuring cups and spoons to accurately measure the ingredients.

    Use the cooking utensils and equipment safely and with adult supervision.

  4. Once the meal is ready, enjoy eating it!

    Reflect on the process and discuss what you liked or learned.
