Activities

Introduce the concept of reading a recipe to your child. Explain that a recipe is a set of instructions that tells us how to make something delicious to eat.

Show your child a recipe card or printout. Read the recipe aloud together, pointing to each word as you read. Encourage your child to follow along with their finger.

Ask your child to identify specific words in the recipe, such as the name of the dish or ingredients. Help them sound out any unfamiliar words.

Prepare the chosen recipe together, following the instructions step by step. Encourage your child to read each instruction out loud before performing the action.
