No prior knowledge is required for this lesson.

Activities

  1. Word Search:

Create a word search puzzle using volcano-related words. Write the words in a grid and fill the remaining spaces with random letters. Give yourself a challenge by including words diagonally and backwards as well. Solve the word search and circle the words once you find them.

  2. Spelling Bee:

Choose five volcano-related words and write them on separate pieces of paper. Have someone else read the words aloud while you spell them out. If you spell all five words correctly, give yourself a high five!

  3. Volcano Story:

Write a short story about a volcano eruption. Use at least five volcano-related words in your story. Make sure to spell them correctly and use them in the right context. Once you finish writing, read your story out loud to someone else.
