Before the lesson, familiarize yourself with the properties and uses of the selected herbs.
Activities
- Introduction: Start by discussing what herbal medicine is and why it is important. Ask the student if they have ever seen or used herbs before.
- Herb Identification: Show the student different herbs and ask them to identify each one. Discuss the appearance, smell, and any previous encounters they may have had with these herbs.
- Planting Herbs: Guide the student in planting the herbs in small pots or containers. Teach them how to properly place the herbs in soil, water them, and provide adequate sunlight.
- Herb Uses: Discuss the common uses of each herb. Explain how mint can be used for digestion, lavender for relaxation, and chamomile for calming purposes.
- Art Activity: Provide the student with white paper and markers. Ask them to draw and color their favorite herb, while explaining why they like it.
