No additional preparation is needed for this lesson.

Activities

  1. Word Building: Write down a few Lego-related words on separate index cards or pieces of paper. For example, "brick," "build," "block," and "Lego." Mix up the cards and ask your child to arrange the letters to form the correct word.
  2. Word Hunt: Hide Lego bricks around the room with different letters written on them. Ask your child to find the bricks and arrange them to spell out a word. Start with simple words like "fun" or "play" and gradually increase the difficulty.
  3. Letter Sorting: Write down different letters of the alphabet on individual Lego bricks. Ask your child to sort the bricks into groups based on similar sounds. For example, all bricks with vowels can be placed in one group, while consonants can be in another.
  4. Sentence Building: Create simple sentences related to Legos and write each word on separate Lego bricks. Mix up the bricks and ask your child to arrange them in the correct order to form a sentence. For example, "I love building with Legos."
