Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to identify and locate various countries and landmarks on a world map, while incorporating their interest in the Pink Panther.

Materials and Prep

  • World map or globe
  • Pink Panther toy or image
  • Paper and pencils

No prior knowledge is required for this lesson.

Activities

  1. Introduction: Show the Pink Panther toy or image to the student and ask if they know where the Pink Panther is from. Discuss the concept of different countries and their locations on a world map.
  2. Locating Countries: Provide the student with a world map or globe. Ask them to locate the country where the Pink Panther is from (France). Encourage them to use the map key or legend to identify the country.
  3. Identifying Landmarks: Show the student pictures or descriptions of famous landmarks from various countries. Ask them to match each landmark with its corresponding country on the map. For example, show a picture of the Eiffel Tower and ask them to locate France on the map.
  4. Create a Travel Itinerary: Have the student imagine that they are planning a trip around the world with the Pink Panther. Ask them to choose at least three countries they would like to visit and mark them on the map. They should also write a short description of why they want to visit each country.
