Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to identify and locate different states on a map.
Materials and Prep
- Blank map of the United States
- Colored pencils or markers
- Printed list of states
Before starting the lesson, make sure you have a good understanding of the names and locations of the states in the United States.
Activities

Coloring the Map: Using the blank map of the United States, use different colors to fill in each state. Make sure to label each state with its name.

State Identification: Take the printed list of states and one by one, try to locate and point out each state on the map. Start with easier states and gradually move on to more challenging ones.

State Capitals: Once you have identified all the states, now try to locate and label their capitals on the map. Use a different color to mark the capitals.
