Objective
By the end of this lesson, you will be able to identify and locate different states in the USA on a map.
Materials and Prep
- A map of the USA
- Colored pencils or markers
- A list of state names
Activities
- Introduce the map of the USA to the student and explain how it is divided into different states.
- Provide the student with a list of state names and ask them to locate and color each state on the map.
- Once the student has finished, review their work together and discuss any questions or difficulties they may have encountered.
- Play a game of "Guess the State" by describing a state's geographical features or famous landmarks, and have the student try to guess which state it is.
