Objective
By the end of this lesson, the toddler will be able to identify and name different types of cars, improve reading skills through word recognition, and enhance vocabulary related to cars.
Materials and Prep
- Paper
- Markers or crayons
- Toy cars (if available)
- Printed pictures or drawings of different cars
Activities
-
Car Word Recognition: Write down the names of different types of cars on separate pieces of paper. Show each word to the toddler and ask them to repeat the name of the car out loud. Encourage them to recognize the written word and associate it with the corresponding car.
-
Car Coloring: Give the toddler some printed pictures or drawings of different cars. Let them choose their favorite car and color it using markers or crayons. As they color, talk about the different parts of the car, such as wheels, windows, and doors.
-
Car Race: If you have toy cars available, create a simple race track using markers or tape on the floor. Let the toddler race their toy cars and cheer them on. Encourage them to use descriptive words to talk about the speed, colors, and sizes of the cars.
