Materials and Prep
- Paper or sketchbook
- Pencils or crayons
- Access to Paw Patrol images (can be printed or viewed online)
No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Start by discussing the concept of visual art with the student. Explain that visual art is a form of creative expression that uses different elements like lines, shapes, colors, and textures to communicate ideas or emotions.
- Show the student a variety of Paw Patrol images and ask them to observe and describe what they see. Encourage them to pay attention to the colors, shapes, and lines used in the artwork.
- Next, ask the student to choose their favorite Paw Patrol character and have them draw a picture of that character using the materials provided. Encourage them to think about the colors, shapes, and lines they observed in the original artwork and incorporate them into their own drawing.
- After completing their drawing, ask the student to explain their artwork. Have them describe the choices they made in terms of colors, shapes, and lines, and what they think their artwork communicates.
- Finally, display the student's artwork in a designated space and have a mini art exhibition. Encourage the student to share their artwork with family members or friends, explaining their artistic choices and what they appreciate about Paw Patrol art.
