Objective

By the end of this lesson, the student will be able to understand basic geography concepts related to football.

Materials and Prep

  • A globe or world map
  • A football or picture of a football
  • Paper and coloring materials

Prior knowledge of basic shapes and colors would be helpful.

Activities

  1. Introduce the concept of geography by showing the globe or world map to the student. Explain that geography is the study of places and how they are connected.
  2. Show the student a football or a picture of a football. Ask them if they know where football is played. Discuss different countries where football is popular.
  3. Have the student color a football on a piece of paper. Encourage them to use different colors to represent different countries.
  4. Using the globe or world map, point out different countries and ask the student to identify the colors they used for those countries on their football drawing.
