Materials and Prep
- Paper and pen/pencil
- List of spelling words related to Pokemon, Mario, Tech Deck, Minecraft, drawing, writing books, and making comics
Activities
- Word Search: Create a word search puzzle using spelling words related to your interests. Write the words in a grid and fill in the remaining spaces with random letters. Challenge yourself to find all the words within a given time limit.
- Spelling Bee: Choose a set of spelling words and have a mini spelling bee with a family member or friend. Take turns spelling the words out loud. If you spell a word incorrectly, you're out. The last person standing wins!
- Comic Strip Spelling: Create a comic strip using characters from your favorite games or books. Incorporate spelling words into the dialogue or captions of the comic strip. This will help you practice spelling the words in a fun and creative way.
- Writing Challenge: Write a short story or a paragraph using as many spelling words as possible. Be creative and try to include your interests in the story. Share your writing with someone and ask them to spot the spelling words you used.
