Materials and Prep

  • Comfortable running shoes
  • Open space or outdoor area for running

Before starting the lesson, make sure you have your running shoes on and find a safe and open space where you can run freely.

Activities

  1. Warm-up Exercises: Start with a light warm-up to prepare your body for running. Perform exercises like jumping jacks, high knees, and arm circles for about 5 minutes.
  2. Running Techniques: Learn and practice proper running techniques. Focus on maintaining an upright posture, swinging your arms back and forth, and landing softly on the balls of your feet.
  3. Sprint Intervals: Set up markers or use natural landmarks in your running area. Alternate between jogging and sprinting between the markers. Start with shorter intervals and gradually increase the distance as you feel comfortable.
  4. Cool-down and Stretching: After your running session, cool down by walking or slow jogging for a few minutes. Then, perform stretching exercises to help your muscles recover and prevent any soreness.
