Materials and Prep

  • Elastic string or thread
  • Beads or small objects representing different civilizations (e.g., Egyptian, Roman, Mayan, Chinese)
  • Scissors
  • Optional: History books or online resources about different civilizations

Activities

  1. Introduction: Start by discussing the importance of history and how it helps us understand different cultures and societies.
  2. Research: Encourage the student to explore different civilizations by reading history books or using online resources. They can focus on the civilizations mentioned in the materials list or choose others that interest them.
  3. Design: Have the student plan the design of their bracelet, considering the colors, patterns, and placement of beads to represent different civilizations.
  4. Bracelet Making: Assist the student in cutting a suitable length of elastic string or thread for their bracelet. Guide them in threading the beads onto the string, explaining that each bead represents a different civilization they have learned about.
