Activities

  1. Warm-up: Start by reviewing the days of the week in English. Write them down on a piece of paper.
  2. Introduce Spanish days of the week: Use the following phrases to introduce the Spanish days of the week:
    • "Today is" - "Hoy es"
    • "Yesterday was" - "Ayer fue"
    • "Tomorrow will be" - "Mañana será"
  3. Practice saying the days of the week: Repeat each day of the week in Spanish after the teacher. Start with Monday - "lunes" and continue until Sunday - "domingo". Repeat multiple times to reinforce memory.
  4. Group activity: Divide the days of the week into two groups - weekdays and weekend days. Write the days of the week on separate pieces of paper and have the student sort them into the correct groups.
  5. Review and quiz: Ask the student to say the days of the week in Spanish without any prompts. Provide positive reinforcement and correct any mistakes.
