By the end of this lesson, you will be able to learn and remember the names for items around the house in Spanish.
Materials and Prep
- Pen or pencil
- Blank paper or notebook
- Printed list of common household items in Spanish (provided below)
No prior knowledge of Spanish is needed for this lesson.
Activities
-
Start by reviewing the list of common household items in Spanish. Pay attention to the pronunciation of each word.
-
Take out a blank piece of paper or notebook and create flashcards for each item on the list. Write the Spanish word on one side and the English translation on the other side.
-
Once you have your flashcards ready, shuffle them and test your memory. Look at the Spanish word and try to recall the English translation. If you need help, you can always flip the flashcard and check the answer.
-
Repeat the previous step several times until you feel confident in your ability to remember the names of the household items in Spanish.
-
To reinforce your learning, try to use the Spanish words in sentences. For example, you can say, "La mesa es grande" (The table is big) or "El sofá es cómodo" (The sofa is comfortable).
