Objective
By the end of this lesson, the toddler will be able to engage in physical activities related to cars, improving their gross motor skills and coordination.
Materials and Prep
- Toy cars
- Open space for movement
- Cones or markers (optional)
No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.
Activities
- Car Race: Set up a starting line and a finish line using cones or markers if available. Encourage the toddler to race their toy cars from the starting line to the finish line.
- Car Obstacle Course: Create a simple obstacle course using pillows, cushions, or other soft objects. The toddler can drive their cars around the obstacles, practicing maneuvering and coordination.
- Car Wash: Fill a basin or bucket with soapy water. Provide the toddler with a sponge or cloth and let them "wash" their toy cars. This activity promotes hand-eye coordination and sensory exploration.
- Car Parade: Encourage the toddler to line up their toy cars and organize a parade. They can walk alongside the cars, imitating the sounds and movements of different vehicles.
