Objective
By the end of this lesson, the first grade student will be able to identify and name three objects in Spanish: la mesa (table), el huevo (egg), and la bicicleta (bicycle).
Materials and Prep
- No additional materials required.
- Prior knowledge of English vocabulary for the objects: table, egg, and bicycle.
Activities
- Introduce the Spanish words by saying them out loud and showing pictures of the objects.
- Practice pronunciation by repeating the words after the teacher.
- Play a game of "Simon Says" using the Spanish words. For example, "Simon says touch la mesa" or "Simon says hop like una bicicleta."
- Have the student draw or find pictures of the objects and label them with the corresponding Spanish words.
- Encourage the student to use the Spanish words in everyday situations, such as pointing to a table and saying "esa es una mesa".
