Activities
- Word Hunt: Write the words "eat," "cat," "dog," "bowl," and "cow" on separate pieces of paper. Scatter the papers around the room. Your task is to find each word and spell it out loud as you find it. Keep track of how many words you find correctly.
- Spelling Bee: Ask a family member or friend to call out the words "eat," "cat," "dog," "bowl," and "cow" one at a time. Spell each word out loud and see how many you can spell correctly. Keep track of your score.
- Word Sorting: Create three columns on a piece of paper labeled "Short e," "Short o," and "Short a." Write the words "eat," "cat," "dog," "bowl," and "cow" on separate small pieces of paper. Sort the words into the correct columns based on the vowel sound you hear in each word.
