By the end of this lesson, the preschool student will be able to identify and name different types of marbles in Mandarin Chinese.
Materials and Prep
- A collection of marbles
- A whiteboard or large paper
- A marker or pen
- A device with internet access (optional)
Activities
- Show and Tell: Begin by showing the student the collection of marbles. Talk about the different colors, sizes, and patterns. Encourage the student to describe what they see in Mandarin Chinese.
- Marble Sorting: Ask the student to help you sort the marbles based on their colors. Use Mandarin Chinese words for colors to label different piles or sections.
- Marble Memory Game: Place a few marbles on the table and let the student study them for a moment. Then, cover the marbles with a cloth or paper and remove one marble. Ask the student to identify the missing marble using Mandarin Chinese words for colors or patterns.
- Online Marble Hunt: If you have access to the internet, search for images of marbles in different colors and patterns. Show the images to the student and ask them to name the colors and patterns in Mandarin Chinese.
