Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to write a simple sentence about Blippi using basic language arts skills.

Materials and Prep

  • Blippi videos or pictures (optional)

Activities

  1. Introduction to Blippi: Show the student Blippi videos or pictures of Blippi. Discuss who Blippi is and what he does. Encourage the student to share their thoughts and feelings about Blippi.
  2. Describing Blippi: Ask the student to describe Blippi using adjectives. Write down their responses on a piece of paper. For example, "Blippi is energetic, funny, and educational."
  3. Writing a Sentence: Using the adjectives from the previous activity, guide the student in writing a simple sentence about Blippi. Start with a subject (Blippi) and add a predicate (is energetic, funny, and educational). Encourage the student to sound out the words and write them down. Assist as needed.
  4. Illustrating the Sentence: Have the student draw a picture that represents their sentence about Blippi. This will help reinforce the connection between words and their meanings.
  5. Sharing and Reflecting: Give the student an opportunity to share their sentence and drawing with you or others. Ask them how they felt about writing and drawing about Blippi.
