Materials and Prep
- Pokemon book or story (can be printed or accessed online)
Activities
- Introduce the Pokemon book or story to the student.
- Preview the story by looking at the pictures.
- Read the story together.
- Discuss the story.
- Extend the learning.
Show the student the cover of the book or the story title on the screen. Ask them if they have ever heard of Pokemon before and what they know about it.
Flip through the pages of the book or scroll through the story online. Ask the student to describe what they see in the pictures and make predictions about what they think the story will be about.
Take turns reading the story aloud with the student. Encourage them to follow along with their finger as you read, pointing to each word.
After reading, ask the student questions about the story to check their comprehension. Ask them to retell the main events or their favorite part of the story.
Encourage the student to draw a picture or write a sentence about their favorite Pokemon or a character from the story. Assist them as needed.
