Objective

By the end of this lesson, you will be able to read and comprehend the story of Josephina.

Materials and Prep

  • The book "Meet Josephina" by Valerie Tripp
  • A comfortable reading space

Activities

  1. Introduce the book "Meet Josephina" to the student and discuss the cover and title.
  2. Read the first chapter of the book aloud to the student, pausing to ask comprehension questions along the way.
  3. Have the student read the second chapter independently, and then discuss what happened in the chapter.
  4. Continue reading and discussing each chapter of the book, alternating between reading aloud and independent reading.
  5. After finishing the book, ask the student to summarize the story in their own words.
