-
Activity 4: Division Challenge
Divide the following numbers:
- 72 ÷ 8
- 63 ÷ 9
- 96 ÷ 6
Once you have found the answers, challenge yourself to solve division problems with larger numbers.
Fourth Grade Talking Points
- "Arithmetic is the branch of mathematics that deals with numbers and basic operations like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division."
- "Addition is combining two or more numbers to find the total."
- "Subtraction is taking away one number from another to find the difference."
- "Multiplication is a shortcut for repeated addition. For example, 3 x 4 means adding 3 four times: 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 12."
- "Division is the opposite of multiplication. It is splitting a number into equal parts or groups."
