Activities

Introduce the concept of journaling to the student. Explain that a journal is a place where they can write and draw about their thoughts, feelings, and experiences.

Have the student choose a topic for their journal entry. It could be something they did that day, a favorite memory, or something they are looking forward to.

Provide the student with the art materials listed above.

Encourage the student to start by drawing a picture related to their chosen topic. They can use pencils, colored pencils, or crayons.

Once the drawing is complete, have the student write a few sentences or words to describe their drawing and express their thoughts or feelings about the topic.

If desired, the student can cut out their drawing and glue it onto the journal page for added creativity.

Repeat the process for additional journal entries, encouraging the student to explore different topics and experiment with different art materials.
