Materials and Prep

  • Paper
  • Crayons or colored pencils
  • Printouts or images of famous American landmarks
  • Printouts or images of famous American artworks

No prior knowledge or preparation is required for this lesson.

Activities

  1. Ask the student to draw their favorite American landmark using crayons or colored pencils.

    Encourage them to be creative and use their imagination.

  2. Show the student images of famous American artworks.

    Discuss the different styles and techniques used in the artworks.

    Ask the student to choose their favorite artwork and explain why they like it.

  3. Ask the student to create their own artwork inspired by the American flag.

    Provide them with a blank piece of paper and red, white, and blue crayons or colored pencils.

    Encourage them to be creative and express their understanding of the American flag.
