Activities

- Show the student how to properly carve a pumpkin. Demonstrate safe carving techniques and encourage them to be mindful of not wasting any parts of the pumpkin.
- Encourage the student to decorate the pumpkin using natural materials or non-toxic paints instead of traditional carving.
- Discuss the importance of recycling or composting the pumpkin after Halloween. Explain how this reduces waste and benefits the environment.
- Optional: Display the carved pumpkin with an LED light or candle and discuss the energy-saving benefits of using LED lights instead of traditional candles.
