Objective

Materials and Prep

  • A book or online article about Pokemon

Activities

  1. Start by discussing with the student what they already know about Pokemon. Ask them questions like:

    • What is your favorite Pokemon?
    • What do you know about Pokemon battles?
    • Have you watched any Pokemon TV shows or movies?
  2. Introduce the text about Pokemon to the student. Read it aloud together or have the student read it on their own, depending on their reading level.

  3. After reading the text, ask the student comprehension questions to check their understanding. For example:

    • Who is the main character in Pokemon?
    • What are some different types of Pokemon?
    • What do trainers do with their Pokemon?
  4. Have the student write a short paragraph about their favorite Pokemon. Encourage them to use descriptive language and include details about the Pokemon's appearance, abilities, and any special moves it has.
