Activities

  1. Research and Presentation:

    Ask the student to research the significance of flowers in different civilizations. They can use the internet to find information about ancient Egypt, ancient Greece, or any other civilization of interest. Once they have gathered enough information, have them create a short presentation highlighting the importance of flowers in each civilization.

  2. Flower Timeline:

    Ask the student to create a timeline showing the historical development of flower cultivation and usage. They can start from ancient times and include important milestones such as the discovery of new flower species, the development of floral arrangements, or the use of flowers in religious ceremonies. Encourage them to include illustrations or images to make the timeline visually appealing.

  3. Flower Symbolism:

    Discuss different flowers and their symbolic meanings. Have the student choose a few flowers and research their symbolism. They can create a poster or write a short essay explaining the symbolism behind each flower and how it relates to historical events or cultural practices.
